What is Rule 307 and Rule 308 of Postal Manual Vol II 

Rules 307 and 308 of Postal Manual Vol II for the destruction of specific forms and documents mentioned therein them in the fire when they become obsolete.

    As we know the burning of papers leads to an increase in air pollution. Hence the competent authority has been decided that from now onwards burning of papers should be avoided.

Instead spoilt and or obsolete receipt books, passbooks, etc., should be destroyed by shredding only.

What are the changes in rule 307 and rule 308 made by the postal directorate

As per the above orders, rule 307 and rule 308 may be amended and the word "destroyed by fire" in rule 307 may be replaced with "destroyed by shredding" and the word 'burnt" in rule 308 may be replaced with "shredded".
