Before a few days, the Postal department introduced the online opening of NSC and KVP accounts. One month later, the Post Office Department announced that a Public Provident Fund account can also be opened online.

Those post office customers who have activated DOP internet banking for their post office savings bank accounts can only be opened PPF accounts online.

After activating DOP internet banking, just follow the below process and open a PPF account online in post office with easy steps.
  • Login into DOP Intemet Banking
  • Click on the General Services option
  • Then click on the Service Requests option
  • Now click on the 'New Requests' option
  • Click on PPF Account - Open a PPF 
  • Now, you have to deposit the amount. Deposit Amount (minimum Rs. 500 and in multiple of Rs. 50 up to Rs. 150000/-)
  • Debit Account (Select linked PO Saving Account)
  • Click on 'Click Here to read terms and conditions and accept terms and conditions.
  • Click on the Submit online button.
  • Enter your Transaction Password. 
  • Click on Submit
  • View,/Download Deposit Receipt.
  • Login again to view the details of PPF opened under accounts.
  • PPF account will be opened in the name of the DOP Internet Banking user and the nominee will be the same as registered in the linked PO Savings Account.

How to close a PPF account online in Post Office

PPF (Public Provident Fund) is now closed online through DOP internet banking. Just follow the below process to close the Post Office PPF account online.
  • First of all, log in to DOP Internet Banking
  • Click on the General Services
  • Again click on Service Requests
  • Now click on New Requests
  • Choose Closure of PPF Account
  • Deposit Account (Select PPF Account to be closed)
  • Credit Account (Select linked PO Saving Account)
  • Now click on Submit online
  • Enter your Transaction Password
  • Click on Submit button
  • View Download Closure Receipt.
  • Log out and log in again to view the details of PPF closed Accounts.
