Example: If an employee working as a PA in any post office then postal assistant salary per month will be like this- 

  • Basic Pay- 25500
  • DA @ 31% - 25500x 31%=7905
  • HRA @ 8%- 25500x 8%= 2040
  • TPA=1800
  • DA on TPA @ 31%- 1800x 17%=558

Postal Assistant Gross Salary 2022= 25500+7905+2040+1800+558=37803/-

A total of 10% of Basic pay+DA will be deducted as NPS= (25500+7905)x10%= 3340.05= 3341/-

Gross Salary- NPS= Salary in Hand
37803-3341= 34462/-



Postal Assistant cash in hand salary in 2022- 34462/-

So, a postal assistant will get the above salary in the first month after joining postal assistant job in the post office. He will get the same figure in the postal assistant salary slip. The salary of postal assistant during training is the same as the above example.

Postal assistant salary increment

Salary of Postal Assistant will increase about 3% in each year on the basis of increment. Basic pay changes as per the 7th CPC pay matrix table only. 

After eight years of service in the postal assistant cadre, PA is eligible to appear in the IPO exam to get a promotion to Inspector cadre.
