Procedure to create a bootable Pendrive

There are three methods to create a bootable USB Pendrive.

01. Method First :

Please follow the below procedure step by step:

Connect USB Pendrive to a running computer.

open command prompt as administrator (Press window+r and type cmd and then press Enter).

type "diskpart" in command prompt then press Enter.

type "list disk" in command prompt then press Enter. this command displays all the disks on the computer. note down the disk number of USB Pendrive. Disk number will appear like disk 0 and disk 1...

type "select disk 'X'" in command prompt then press enter. (here X is disk number of USB pendrive.)

a massage will appear "Disk 'X' is now the selected disk."

type "clean" and press Enter. (this command clean USB pendrive)

type "create partition primary" and then press Enter.

type "format fs=fat32 quick" and then press Enter. (you can also use ntfs format of file system. "format fs=ntfs quick")

type "active" and press Enter.

type "exit" and press Enter.

copy and paste of all files of windows operating system from Window installation CD/DVD or Windows ISO file. Your USB pendrive is now converted into bootable pendrive.

02. Method Second :

You can also create bootable USB pendrive from RUFUS software (https://rufus.ie/)

Procedure to create bootable USB pendrive from RUFUS software step by step.

Download rufus software from its official website i.e.(https://rufus.ie/)

Screen of rufus software will show as below after run rufus software.

Select your USB pendrive in device option. (note make sure important data will be copied in computer because rufus software will format your USB pendrive)

Select windows installation iso file in boot selection option.

Give name in Volume Label option as per your choice like windows 7, windows 8, windows 10 etc.

Select file system fat32 in file system option.

Then click on start button.

A confirmation massage will be displayed as "READY"

03. Method Third:

If u want to create one bootable USB pendrive for multiple operating system like Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 , you should use "WinSetupfromUSB" software (www.winsetupfromusb.com/downloads/).

Procedure to create bootable USB pendrive from RUFUS software step by step.

Download WinSetupFromUSB from it's official website. Extract this file.

Connect USB pendrive to your computer.

Open WinSetupFromUSB 32-bit or 64-bit version according to your Operation System. It will work without any installation.

Your USB pendrive will be displayed in first option. Click Refresh, if it is not on the list.

Tick mark on auto format it with FBinst and choose FAT32 or NTFS file system. Both will work prefectly.

Then click Advanced options and Tick on the Custom menu names for Vista/7/8/Server Source checkbox. Go back by clicking on Cross (X) button to exit Advanced Options.

Add the ISO file for your multiboot USB, tick the checkbox corresponding to OS under Add to USB disk subheading.

For example, I am using the Windows 8.1 ISO file.

Click on GO button. A data deletion warning message will be displayed. This is because you’ve chosen to format the flash drive. Click Yes.

Another warning message will be displayed telling you that all the partitions will be erased. Click on Yes button.

Next, it will ask for the folder name. Type the desired one in 30 seconds or it’ll auto select. Click Ok.

It will ask for the boot menu name. This will appear when you run the multiboot USB on some PC and choose an operating system. Type your desired name like Windows 8.1 64-bit. Click Ok.

The process will take some time.

Click EXIT to finish.

Now if you want to add multiple Operating System ISO file for Multiboot USB Disk, follow below procedure.

Start the tool again.

Select your flash drive in the drop-down menu.

Click Advanced Options and look for Custom menu names for Vista/7/8/10/Server Source.

Don’t Click Auto format with FBinst. That’s because it will remove your previous ISO file.

Add the second ISO file for your multiboot USB.

Click GO and repeat the steps mentioned earlier.

Follow the same process to add more ISO files.
